THE JOB:
The Executive Director of Social Media will lead MGM Resorts’ enterprise social strategy, overseeing a centralized team and collaborating with property marketers, content creators, brand, media, and influencer teams. This role drives trendsetting storytelling, community engagement, and brand affinity across key social platforms to position MGM Resorts as an industry leader.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
The Executive Director of Social Media will drive MGM Resorts’ enterprise-wide social strategy by aligning content and channel architecture with overarching brand and business objectives.
This role sets the vision for innovation across established and emerging platforms while leading a high-performing team of social strategists, content creators, and community managers.
Daily responsibilities include collaborating with brand, media, and creative partners to deliver impactful campaigns that elevate awareness, engagement, and conversion.
The role oversees both organic and paid social initiatives, analyzes KPIs to optimize performance, and provides strategic insights through regular reporting. Additionally, the Executive Director will guide enterprise influencer strategies, leverage social listening tools for guest engagement, and work cross-functionally to ensure a cohesive customer experience across all digital and physical touchpoints.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field, and brings over 8 years of progressive experience in social media, community management, or digital content roles, with at least 4 years in a leadership position.
They possess expert knowledge of major and emerging social platforms (Meta, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Threads, etc.) and have a strong track record of developing and executing integrated paid social strategies. A data-driven thinker, this candidate excels in analyzing metrics to refine performance and drive results.
They are a collaborative, innovative leader with experience managing teams and multiple brand voices and are flexible and responsive—able to engage in real-time around resort events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
