THE JOB:

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Chief Pilot(s) is to develop, implement, and oversee operational standards and training programs, ensuring the safe and compliant operation of company aircraft. This role includes evaluating both flight operations and training effectiveness to maintain the highest levels of safety and performance.

Assistant Chief Pilots are expected to mentor and lead a team of assigned pilots, fostering engagement and supporting the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. They are responsible for developing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with company, FAA, and OEM manuals to support global operations.

In addition, the Assistant Chief Pilot(s) must establish and assess international operating procedures, ensuring they meet regulatory and operational requirements. They play a key leadership role in advancing flight operations safety initiatives and collaborate closely with the Chief Pilot to uphold the highest safety standards.

Assistant Chief Pilots are responsible for establishing performance standards and evaluating pilots to ensure adherence to departmental procedures, OEM guidance, and industry best practices.

This role also includes participating in the recruitment and selection of pilots, approving crew pairings, and providing ongoing feedback to the Chief Pilot and Vice President of Aviation to support the overall safety, efficiency, and execution of flight operations.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Promotes the MGM Resorts Aviation safety culture in all aspects of aviation operations.
  • Assumes flight duties regularly and acts at Pilot-in-Command ensuring safe and efficient service to customers while monitoring the standardization and procedures of flight crews.
  • Provides a key leadership role within the department and must develop and implement safe and efficient operating procedures, oversees and supervises the activities of flight personnel during day-to-day operations.
  • Works with the Chief Pilot to initiate actions that include performance evaluations, commendations, coaching, counseling and remedial training for all pilots/crewmembers.
  • Develops schedules based on property and executive demand against fleet availability.
  • Remains informed and ensured compliance with the latest developments within the business aviation community, including Federal, State, local and foreign regulations affecting operations.
  • Develops, implements and trains pilots to ensure compliance with company, regulatory and technical requirements.
  • Ensures appropriate pilot staffing levels per aircraft type based upon marketing demands.
  • Maintains and oversees all areas of the Aviation Operation for which he is assigned by the Chief Pilot. These areas include but are not limited to: Training, Standards, Standardization, Quality, Reporting, Documentation, Publications, Regulations, Oversight, Regulatory Interface, and International Operations.
  • Works with the Chief Pilot and the Director of Safety to maintain, review, and recommend required updates to department SOP’s.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience

5+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in Aviation Training/Leadership Position as Line Instructor/evaluator or equipment training manager in jet aircraft

5+ Years of Prior Relevant experience developing and implementing procedures with jet aircraft in a formalized capacity

3+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in an aviation operations supervisory role

Hold a type rating in one or more Company-owned aircraft

No FAA accidents/incidents

3000 hours of total pilot flight time, 2500 hours of multi engine turbine time, experience operating large-cabin aircraft, and experience in advanced electronic/digital avionics cockpits

Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is:

$177,500.00 - $236,600.00

This range represents a good faith estimate of the salary range that MGM reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s incentive plan.

Employees in this position are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plans, and time off plans. Specific program offerings vary by eligibility factors such as geographic location, employment status, and union membership.
