THE JOB:

Elevate your culinary career at DPrime, MGM Grand Detroit’s premier steakhouse, where sophistication meets exceptional flavor. As a Fine Dining Cook I, you’ll craft high-quality, expertly prepared dishes in a refined, high-performance kitchen, mastering precision cooking techniques across multiple stations. You’ll play a key role in delivering beautifully plated, steakhouse classics with consistency and excellence, while maintaining seamless service during peak dining hours. Working alongside a talented culinary and front-of-house team, you’ll help create an unforgettable, luxury dining experience for every guest—upholding the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and professionalism.

THE STARTING RATE: $19.26 an hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Prepares meals and other food items according to assignment by the Restaurant Chef at assigned Salad/Pantry, Appetizer, or Add-On fine dining stations in accordance with fine dining standards and guest requests.

  • Uses recipes and a variety of kitchen equipment to sauté, bake, boil, blanch, braise, fry, sear, and steam food to prepare and reheat soups, salads, sauces, dressings, and other food items.

  • Plate meals or other food items in accordance with plate presentation specifications.

  • Informs supervisor of any irregularities occurring within the food preparation operation.

  • Maintains clean and sanitary work areas throughout the meal period or working shift.

  • Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report in the event an accident occurs.

  • Ensures food prep areas and related floor areas are properly clean and safe at all times from any spills or mess that have been created by self or others.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • One year food production/preparation experience in a similar high-volume restaurant setting preferred.

  • Food production/preparation experience in a three-diamond rated property or above (AAA Diamond Rating) preferred.
