THE JOB:
Step behind the scenes at MGM Grand Detroit and bring unforgettable events to life as a Banquet Cook! In this role, you’ll prepare and execute high-quality dishes for everything from elegant galas to large-scale celebrations, all within a fast-paced, high-energy banquet kitchen. You’ll showcase your culinary skills with precision and consistency, ensuring every plate meets exceptional standards while keeping service running seamlessly. Working alongside a talented culinary team, you’ll help create memorable dining experiences for guests on their biggest occasions. THE STARTING RATE: $18.26 an hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Maintain solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques
Identify and safely use kitchen equipment
Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service
Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation
Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation
Assist kitchen leadership and staff in execution of service
Maintain solid knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Two years prior relevant experience in a similar resort setting preferred
One year of prior relevant cooking experience preferred
