THE JOB:
Bring your energy to MGM Grand Detroit and play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences! As a Culinary Utility Person, you’ll support our culinary team by keeping kitchens running smoothly and ensuring every guest interaction starts with a welcoming, service-first attitude.
THE STARTING RATE: $16.61 an hour
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Prepare food for service according to assignment by the Sous Chef or Restaurant Chef
Transport food products from production kitchens to restaurants or other food holding areas in a timely fashion
Move food from holding boxes to the front-line steam tables and cold bins for use by internal and external guests
Maintain clean and sanitary work areas throughout the meal period or working shift
Return unused food items to overnight storage or other proper recovery areas according to established procedures
Maintain a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report in the event an accident occurs
Ensure the food prep areas and related floor areas are properly clean and safe at all times from any spills or mess
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Six months of prior relevant food production/preparation experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
Ability to work a varied shift to include weekends and holidays
