THE JOB:

As the Senior Bar Manager for The Corner Store, you will set and shape a distinctive, upscale vibe—driving a culture of hospitality, connection, and excellence for both guests and team members. The Senior Bar Manager leads with style and intention, bringing direction and energy to the Beverage team in a way that reflects the MGM brand. They guide the Beverage Staff to hit both operational and financial goals for the venue. From curating exceptional guest experiences to building high-performing teams, they stay hands-on—monitoring performance, owning scheduling and development, and ensuring every detail of the space aligns with MGM Resorts’ elevated service standards. This role is all about creating memorable moments, delivering consistently high energy on the floor, and making sure every guest interaction feels next level.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for operational functions at The Corner Store, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan, business objectives, and vision for The Corner Store Cocktail Program.

  • Provide input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure the company competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality and gaming environment.

  • Responsible for cost controls and necessary reporting requirements, including forecast reports, adherence to budget and Profit & Loss statements, and assisting with other reports as necessary.

  • Maintain high level of motivation among all Employees by encouraging feedback and participation in decision-making processes; encourage all Employees to participate in development of promotional and marketing concepts.

  • Provide coaching and feedback to help team members develop and strengthen skills and abilities needed to accomplish work objectives.

  • Reviews ratings with social media outlets like Yelp and Trip Advisor, with Employees and management to learn how to develop a strategy to increase positive ratings.

  • Lead HR functions by driving employee engagement, talent management, diversity, compliance, and adherence to company policies, labor agreements, and workforce representation principles.

  • Maintain a working relationship with unions; adherence to the company’s status quo third party representation philosophy; compliance with company policies, legal requirements and collective bargaining agreements.

  • Resolve escalated issues with customers and or vendors with the recommended customer service-related comps as appropriate.

  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate scheduling and staffing; must be able to direct and supervise employees.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • 6+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience

  • Working knowledge of Culinary Union bargaining agreement.

  • Understanding of F&B division, budgeting, profit and loss statement, labor costs, entertainment costs, food and beverage costs, and operation expenses.

  • Thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment, balancing operational precision with an authentic, memorable guest experience.

  • Able to lead and mentor a team.

  • Equally strategic and hands-on, they identify challenges early and implement solutions swiftly. Resourceful yet refined.

  • Strong overall knowledge of beverage preparation and presentation.

  • Excellent organizational skills; able to function under time constraints and deadlines with an uncompromising eye for detail.

  • Willing to return to fundamentals and approach each day as day one.

  • Someone who embraces the productive tension of learning and takes on new challenges with curiosity and think both strategically and tactically.

  • Experience executing high-profile restaurant or venue openings within a luxury hospitality environment.

  • Have interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint.
