THE JOB:

Bring your culinary passion and leadership to the spotlight as a Banquet Sous Chef at MGM National Harbor. In this dynamic role within our high-end, luxury banquet facility, you will drive operational excellence and craft unforgettable dining moments for world-class galas and exclusive private events. Partnering directly with the Banquet Executive Chef, you will set premier culinary standards by training and developing kitchen talent, managing daily scheduling and inventory, and ensuring every dish meets our highest benchmarks for quality, flavor, and presentation. THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Train Master Cooks, Cooks, Pantry Workers and Helpers on job responsibilities

  • Ensure requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated area

  • Label and date all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation

  • Maintain knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups

  • Ensure food quality is superior and take action to correct any irregularities

  • Communicate with management and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and employees

  • Assist the Banquet Executive Chef by controlling purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of all kitchen items

  • Prepare and administer kitchen schedule

  • Assist the Banquet Executive Chef by establishing goals and objectives that focus on profit, product and people

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

  • Two years of supervisory/management experience

  • Five years of food production experience in a high-volume hotel/casino environment preferred

  • Ability to work a varied shift to include weekends, holidays, and evenings

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is:

$46,000.00 - $63,200.00

This range represents a good faith estimate of the salary range that MGM reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including location.

Employees in this position are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) plans, and time off plans. Specific program offerings vary by eligibility factors such as geographic location, employment status, and union membership.
