THE JOB:
The Senior Manager will support the Company's development activities in Japan and as otherwise directed by pushing initiatives related to strategic and operational projects over the short-term, and pre-opening activities over the medium- to long-term. This position participates in the PMO group with a focus on establishing and sustaining analytical reports and tools to support the project's overall development strategies. This position acts as project lead on initiatives involving leaders and SMEs from both internal MGM Resorts International division and third-party partners. This position will present recommendations based on analysis to leadership and third-party partners for consideration and execution.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Contribute within the Project Management Office (PMO) in managing pre-opening working groups to facilitate communication and status tracking, escalation to senior leadership, and coordination with other business units (i.e. D&C) while working closely with Joint Venture (JV) counterparts on behalf of MGM Japan.
Supports monthly, quarterly, annual budgeting activities, updating of business proforma, and maintenance of the compendium for MGM Japan while fostering strong partnership with Corporate Finance and Design & Construction Cost management team
Drives ad-hoc reporting and analysis that supports senior leadership decision making for MGM Japan
Contributes to financial management of any development and pre-opening projects by providing insights and recommendations on cash flow, cost identification and allocation, and risk management
Support development and pre-opening activities including analytical support, problem solving, collaborating with contractors, advisors, consultants, and partners in both U.S. and in Japan
Support execution of key contracts and scope of work documents in a timely manner that allow us efficient start and complete phases of project work
Support English to Japanese and Japanese to English communications as needed to facilitate decision making, alignment, conflict resolution, and effective communication between parties, as part of the ongoing MGMRI project in Japan. May include both written and verbal communication support
Develop and drive preopening planning and operational strategies in key areas of the project in Japan. Work closely with MGM and Japanese subject matter experts while also developing subject matter knowledge and ability to become an expert in these areas
Evaluate and perform due diligence on potential partnerships with corporations, central and local governments, tourism agencies, vendors etc
Communicate research findings and project status updates with senior management effectively
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
3+ Years of prior relevant experience in a corporate environment, preferably with experience in Japan and casino or gaming companies

Native or proficient level Japanese speaker preferred
