THE JOB:
The Associate - Strategic Sourcing supports the execution of strategic sourcing activities for assigned categories. This role assists in developing sourcing programs, managing vendor communications, and performing detailed analysis to support category strategies for MGM Resorts International and subsidiaries. All duties must comply with departmental and company policies, practices, and procedures.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Assist in leading strategic sourcing initiatives for assigned categories.
- Conduct financial and spend analysis to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support market and supplier analysis to identify potential sourcing opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and clarify property requirements.
- Assist in developing sourcing plans aligned with category strategies.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams to support project implementation and compliance.
- Help develop and manage Request for Proposals (RFPs), including issuing and analyzing responses.
- Support contract negotiation and execution in coordination with Corporate Legal.
- Assist in developing and executing project rollout plans to ensure successful implementation and compliance.
- Monitor supplier performance and prepare reports on purchase trends and program adherence.
- Support identification and development of diverse and alternative suppliers aligned with sustainability goals.
- Assist in identifying solutions to sourcing and supplier-related issues.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field Preferred
- 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in procurement or sourcing experience Required
- Experience supporting bid processes (RFI, RFP, and informal bids) and supplier evaluation.
- Experience with strategic sourcing in direct and indirect categories.
- Exposure to contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
- Professional certifications such as CPM or CPSM are a plus.
